Pioneer Children

I sent Meg with a camera.  She only took 5 pictures in the four days she was gone.  Hopefully, some of the leaders from our ward took more photos than she did.  Megan's in the blue bonnet.  Her friend Autumn is in the white bonnet.  Meg did have a wonderful experience though.  I'm grateful to the leaders and youth who spent countless hours preparing for this week.  It really does strengthen the testimonies of those who go.

Pioneer Trek

 

Megan left bright and early this morning for Pioneer Trek.  Isn't she a cute pioneer? I sent her with a camera, so hopefully she remembers to take lots of pictures of Trek. 

Camp Fife

This year the Webelos went to Camp Fife.  Josh loved climbing the rock wall.

Josh wasn't completely sure he wanted to go on the zipline.  The first step is the hardest to take.

Unfortunately we had too many boys in our group, so they only got to go on the zipline once.

The sling shots were lots of fun and something Josh' hadn't done before.

BB guns are always a big hit!

Day at the Zoo

We haven't been to the Hogle Zoo in a couple of years.  We were pleasantly surprised at all of the improvements they have made since our last visit.  Here's Josh and Hailey in the eagle's nest.

Olympic Park

We wanted to beat the heat of the valley (and hopefully avoid the wildfires) so we went to Park City.  While there we stopped at the Olympic Park.  Tom and I hadn't been there since the 2002 Winter Olympics.

The kids weren't sure about the zip lines (they were more intense than the Ranch) so we just stuck with rides on the ski lifts.

Tom and I attended the preliminaries of the K90 during the 2002 Winter Olympics.  At the time we were awed by what we saw from below as the ski jumpers came off the hill.  What they do is much more amazing when you see the view from the top.

Finding Nemo

Living in a land lock state, the closest we get to the ocean is a trip to Living Planet Aquarium.  While some of our family is getting "too cool" to enjoy the ocean life, for the rest of us we really love it here.

Hailey had to touch everything she was allowed to touch.  She had a hard time reaching the sting rays though.  That fear of falling in kept them just out of reach unless the sting ray was swimming by.

Tom's favorite exhibit is the penguins, especially during feeding time.
