Julie's beehive leader had tickets for the General Young Women's Broadcast, so the three of us were able to attend tonight. Our friends, the Newmans, also had tickets so we made it a wonderful afternoon together.
We had an early super at the Nauvoo Cafe in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and then had time to walk around the temple grounds. Megan and Julie were freezing, but they did have a wonderful time.
Megan started playing the violin in the sixth grade. Although she's played in the orchestra for 3 years now, this was her first solo performance. She did a great job!
Julie loves playing the piano and is very self motivated! I haven't had to tell her to practice in years. (The secret is a little healthy sibling rivalry!) She did a wonderful job at her recital today. I just hope her YW leaders let her share her talents more!
It's a terrible photo (I'm waiting for pictures from a scout leader), but I'm so proud of Josh and his accomplishments! Josh loves scouting and has work very hard this past year. Tonight he earned his Wolfe Badge, two arrows, and a few belt loops. Way to go Josh!
Can you say excited? To say that Hailey was thrilled with her birthday present, a Barbie vacation house, is an understatement.
My sweet neighbor that watches Hailey in the afternoons while I'm working, made this super soft, striped quilt for Hailey's birthday. She also took her out to lunch and had a mini birthday party for Hailey this afternoon. Hailey has already named the quilt "Pinkalicious." (If you didn't already know, Hailey names all of her blankets.) I'm hoping it will replace a much tattered "Mimsi" in Hailey's affections.
While we were at work and school, the Leprechauns stopped at our house and left trails gold coins. Hailey was so excited! She willingly shared her Leprechaun gold with Mom and Dad, because she loves them more than gold. Thankfully, the Leprechauns didn't play any pranks at the house.
It's hard to believe that Megan is 14!
