Orchestra

Meg's final orchestra concert was amazing!  They've worked so hard over the last year.   The orchestra qualified to attend the state competition.  At state they earned a Superior Rating. It's fun to see how far Megan has come since starting to play the violin in 6th grade.

MORP

Megan and several of her friends went to MORP last night.  They had a blast riding the Front Runner to Salt Lake, doing a scavenger hunt at Gateway, eating lunch, going to a park in West Point, jumping on the trampoline at our house, having diner at Café Rio, getting yummy treats at Sweet Tooth Fairy, and then finally came the dance at the high school.  Saying it was a busy day, is an understatement.

Arrow of Light

Josh was awarded the Arrow of Light this past week.  It took a lot of work at the end to finish up the requirements, be he did it!  We're so proud of Josh and all of his hard work.

Rice Babies

As part of our Family Time theme in Language Arts, we make Rice Babies to help the kids understand the importance of babies in our families and how to care for them.  Hailey was so excited that I was a "grandma."  She named her rice baby Emily.  She weighed 1 pound 6 ounces and was 7 inches long.  Emily will spend the weekend at the "school nursery" and will come home with Hailey next week.

Lego Mindstorms

Josh has spent the last few weeks building a Lego Mindstorms robot to compete at Lagoon's Physics Day.  Josh and Kent worked really hard on their robot!  They even had to rebuild it after it fell off of a table.  The programing the boys use for therobot is the same programing used for the Mars Land Rovers!  

Baby Teeth

Poor Hailey's baby teeth have a hard time coming out on their own!  Since her mouth is SUPER crowded, she needs to get started on orthodontics this summer.  Two of her front baby teeth didn't want to come out on their own, so she needed the dentist's help.  Unfortunately, teeth below the nose are extremely difficult to numb.  Two of us had to restrain Hailey so the dentist could numb her mouth.  After that traumatic experience, she wasn't about to let him near her to pull the teeth out, so we had to hold her down once again.  Hopefully she won't be afraid to visit the dentist again!

Scout Hike to Waterfall Canyon

Josh's final requirement to earn his Arrow of Light was an outdoor activity with the 11 year old scouts.  Bright and early this morning they left to hike up to Waterfall Canyon in Ogden. 

Josh said the waterfall was icy cold and that the hike was long and hot. It will probably be a while before we convince him to go on another one.
