So a couple of weeks ago the little neighbor boy that Hailey spends her afternoons with while I'm teaching, told Hailey they were going to be riding bikes and he would teach her how. (He says he's going to marry Hailey too, but that's another story.) True to his word, he taught Hailey in one afternoon how to ride without training wheels. Since then she's been a little speed demon.Tuesday night she crashed spectacularly in the driveway. A picture doesn't give the swelling, funky colors, road rash and pain any justice. It was also school picture day on Wednesday. But Hailey is her own unique self. After the initial pain, she didn't have any problem with her bruised cheek and black eye -- after all, pink and purple are girl colors! Now her face is turning a deep purple (still good) but I'm afraid when it's green and yellow she'll start to get upset!
